PRESCHOOL AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
At Bridgeport United Methodist Church, children are a gift from God—and caring for them is part of our calling. Through our Preschool and Joyful Noise After School Program, we offer safe, nurturing, Christ-centered environments where children are known, valued, and encouraged to grow.
Bridgeport UMC Preschool

Bridgeport United Methodist Church Preschool believes that each child is a person of value who deserves to be nurtured as a child of God. Since 1980, our preschool has been a trusted and vital part of the Bridgeport community, providing early childhood education within a loving Christian environment.
Our program focuses on the whole child—supporting spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical development through age-appropriate learning and play.
Preschool Class Options
Pre-K (Ages 4–5)
Designed for children entering kindergarten the following year.

Learning centers, art, music, literature, and pre-kindergarten skills

Classes meet 2½ hours per session, 3 or 5 days per week
Early Learners (Age 3)
Encourages learning through structured play and exploration.

Activities in block play, housekeeping, sandbox, art, stories, and music

Classes meet 2 hours per session, twice per week
Creative Twos (Age 2)
Introduces children to group learning and social interaction.

Focus on cooperation, sharing, and structured activities

Joyful Noise After School Program
The Joyful Noise After School Program is a ministry of Bridgeport United Methodist Church that serves children and families throughout the Bridgeport community. Designed especially for working families, Joyful Noise provides a safe, caring, and faith-centered place for children after the school day ends.
Children begin arriving as early as 2:00 PM, and the program runs until 5:30 PM each weekday during the school year.
A Place of Care, Play, and Growth
Joyful Noise blends structure and creativity in a setting filled with energy, laughter, and care. As one longtime church member once said,
“It’s noisy—but it’s a joyful noise!”
Children participate in:

Games and imaginative play

Recreational activities

Monthly mission or service projects

Snacks and supervised free play
Christian values and age-appropriate faith materials are woven naturally into daily activities, helping children grow not only academically and socially, but spiritually as well.
Who We Serve

Open to children from preschool through 5th grade

Children from Simpson Elementary School are met by staff and escorted safely across the street to the church

Children from Johnson Elementary School arrive by bus and are met by Joyful Noise staff
The program welcomes families regardless of church affiliation and is offered as a community outreach ministry.

Joyful Noise is available on early dismissal school days and begins each year with an open house for families.
