OPENING WORDS OF WELCOME AND WORSHIP

WHAT IS A MATTHEW 25 CHURCH?

We are a community of faith focused on being in ministry with and for the least, the last, the lonely, and the left out.  Jesus said, "When you do it to the least of these, you do it unto me." (Matthew 25:40). This is out primary work.  Please join us as we strengthen ourselves for the task in worship, prayer, and study and then go forth to serve in Matthew 25 ministries.

HYMN

Rejoice, the Lord is King

1. Rejoice, the Lord is King!
Your Lord and King adore;
mortals, give thanks and sing,
and triumph evermore.
Lift up your heart,
lift up your voice; rejoice, again I say, rejoice.

2. Jesus the Savior reigns,
the God of truth and love;
when he had purged our stains,
he took his seat above.
Lift up your heart,
lift up your voice; rejoice, again I say, rejoice.

INVOCATION

The Ascension

Everliving God, Your eternal Christ once dwelt on earth, confined by time and space.

Give us faith to discern in every time and place, the Presence among us; Him who

is the head over all things and fills all, even Jesus Christ our ascended Lord, who gave

us the prayer that we now pray together.

THE LORDS PRAYER

Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed by Thy name,

They kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

VIRTUAL CHOIR HYMN

Bridge Over Troubled Water

RECOGNITION OF THE CLASS OF 2021

WORD IN MUSIC

Saturday 6:15pm     Sing Praise To The Lord

The song your heart learned to sing

When he first gave his life to you

But life goes on and so must the song

You gotta sing again

The song born in your soul when

You first gave your heart to Him

Sing His praises once more

Just to let the name of the Lord

Be praised both for now and ever more

Praise him oh you servants

Sunday 8:30am & 10:45am     Joy in the Morning

There'll be joy in the morning on that day,

for the daylight will dawn when the darkness is gone,

there'll be joy in the morning on that day.

There'll be peace and contentment ever more,

every heart, every voice on that day will rejoice,

there'll be peace and contentment evermore

There'll be love and forgiveness every where,

and the way of the Lord will that day be restored,

there'll be love and forgiveness every where.

Sunday 9:45am     Sent Out In Jesus Name

Sent out in Jesus' name,
our hands are ready now
to make the earth the place
in which the kingdom comes.

The angels cannot change
a world of hurt and pain
into a world of love,
of justice and of peace.
The task is ours to do,
to set it really free.
O help us to obey
and carry out your will.

SCRIPTURE LESSON

Luke 24: 44-53

44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, 46 and he said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And see, I am sending upon you what my Father promised; so stay here in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

50 Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and, lifting up his hands, he blessed them. 51 While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy; 53 and they were continually in the temple blessing God.
