MUSIC MINISTRIES
Making a joyful noise to the Lord—together.
Music as Worship. Music as Community. Music as Calling.
At Bridgeport United Methodist Church, music is at the heart of our worship and our life together. Through song, instruments, and shared voices, we praise God, tell the story of faith, and lift our prayers with joy and hope.
Music here is not about performance—it is about participation. Whether voices are strong or tentative, trained or simply willing, we believe every voice has a place in worship. From children discovering music for the first time, to youth growing in confidence, to adults offering their gifts in praise, music helps form us as disciples and draws us closer to God and one another.
We invite people of all ages and musical backgrounds to join in making a joyful noise to the Lord, together.
Adult Music Ministries
Adult music ministries at Bridgeport United Methodist Church offer opportunities to serve God through song, fellowship, and leadership in worship. Whether you have years of musical experience or are rediscovering your voice, we believe music is a gift meant to be shared in community.
Our adult ensembles help lead the congregation in worship, support congregational singing, and enrich the church’s life through music that is prayerful, thoughtful, and rooted in faith.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is open to adults who enjoy singing and serving in worship. The choir leads music regularly in our traditional worship services and participates in special services throughout the church year, including Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter.
Rehearsals are a time of both musical preparation and fellowship, and singers of varying experience levels are welcome. No audition is required—only a willingness to participate, grow, and offer your voice in worship. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

Handbell Choir
Our Handbell Choir offers adults the opportunity to participate in worship through instrumental music. Handbells add beauty, depth, and reverence to worship and invite musicians to work together in a collaborative and engaging way.
Experience with handbells is not required. Training and support are provided, and all who are interested are encouraged to inquire. Rehearsals are held on Sundays at 6:00 pm in the Balcony.

Instrumentalists, Vocalists, & Special Music
Instrumentalists are invited to share their gifts throughout the year in worship and special services. From brass and keyboard to strings and other instruments, musicians of many kinds contribute to the rich musical life of the church.
Vocalists also help lead worship throughout the year. Especially during the summer months, Saturday evening services, and special services, vocal soloists, duets, and ensembles offer music that supports prayer, reflection, and congregational worship.
Musicians of many kinds—singers and instrumentalists alike—are invited to share their gifts as they are able. Opportunities vary by season and service, and participation is flexible. Special music is coordinated with the music staff and clergy to support the worship life of the congregation.
Want to Know More?
If you are interested in participating in an adult music ministry—or simply want to learn more—we would be glad to help you find a place that fits your gifts, schedule, and interests. Please contact Dan Hughes or the Church Office with any questions or to see how you can be involved.
