Membership at BUMC
At Bridgeport United Methodist Church, membership is a way of saying, “This is my church home — the community where I want to worship, grow, serve, and share in the mission of Jesus Christ.”

We’ll share a light dinner and talk together about what membership at BUMC means, what United Methodists believe, the promises members make, and the next steps for anyone who would like to formally join the church.
There is no obligation to join by attending. This is simply an opportunity to learn more, ask questions, meet others, and consider whether membership might be the right next step for you.
What Does Membership Mean?
Members of The United Methodist Church promise to faithfully participate in the ministries of the church through their:

Membership is not simply having your name on a church roll. It is a commitment to share in the worship, life, care, and mission of a local congregation as we follow Jesus together.
