Our Vision

Our Youth Ministry exists to expose teenagers to God’s love, to equip them to exalt God, to enjoy other believers, and experience the work of the ministry.

Expose – (Evangelism) – By sharing life-giving and life-changing examples of how Christ has made a difference in our daily lives.

Equip – (Discipleship) – By presenting and explaining the many tools and resources available to us as we spend time with God daily.

Exalt – (Worship) – By gaining a deeper understanding of why we worship and how worship should be a part of each life experience.

Enjoy – (Fellowship) – By forming relationships with other Christians and gaining understanding as to why Christian relationships are vital for effective Christian living.

Experience – (Ministry) – By participating in hands-on ministry opportunities using our God given gifts and talents.

Our Organization

Our church provides many exciting and growth-centered experiences:

UMYF - Youth gather each Sunday evening (August through May) for fun, fellowship, and growth.  Mid High (6-8 grade) meet at 6:30 p.m.; Senior High (9-12 grade) meet at 7:30 p.m. Both groups meet in the Fellowship Hall.

Ministry Teams - Our Youth Ministry offers 20 different ministry teams for youth members to put their faith into action. These small group ministry teams may meet on a weekly basis, while others will meet whenever they need to prepare for an event or service project.  Youth members may sign up for one or as many of these teams that they want and that their schedule will allow.  Teams include:

  • Art
  • Audio/visual
  • Babysitting
  • Bible Study
  • Children’s Ministries
  • Drama
  • Greeting/Hospitality
  • Missions
  • Office work
  • Photography
  • Praise Team (Music Ministry)
  • Visitation

Fun Activities - At least once a month, the Youth Ministry plans a special trip. Last year, youth members visited Kennywood Park, toured Rich’s Farms’ Fright Farm, attended a Jeremy Camp Concert and a Hawk Nelson Concert at Chestnut Ridge Church in Morgantown, West Virginia; and went snow tubing at WinterPlace Ski Resort. This past summer the youth members toured the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.

Beyond Our Local Church - Many youth participate in District and Conference events including Summer Youth Celebration at West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon, West Virginia; and Fall Workshop at Cedar Lakes State Park, Ripley, West Virginia.
