The Reverend Steven E. Dorsey is serving his eighth year as senior pastor of Bridgeport UMC.  A graduate of Huntington East High School in Huntington, WV, Rev. Dorsey received a bachelor of science degree from Marshall University, Huntington, WV; and a master of divinity degree from Duke Divinity School, Duke University, Durham, NC.  Prior to coming to Bridgeport UMC, Rev. Dorsey served Trinity UMC, Bluefield, WV; Athen UMC, Athens, WV; Duff Street UMC, Clarksburg, WV; and Trinity UMC, Point Pleasant, WV.  He and his wife, Jennie, have three adult children - S. Elliott Dorsey, Jr., Thomas Earl Dorsey, and Mary Margaret Dorsey. The are also the proud grandparents of one grandson - Benjamin Case Dorsey.

The Reverend Steve Engle, associate minister of worship, has served Bridgeport UMC for six years.  A graduate of Fairmont Senior High School, Fairmont, WV, Rev. Engle continued his education at Concord College and Fairmont State College, receiving a bachelor of arts in English, psychology, and speech. He received a master of divinity degree from Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Atlanta, GA.  Among his responsibilities as minister of worship at Bridgeport UMC, Rev. Engle teaches the “Family Focus” Sunday School Class and leads members of the congregation through a Lenten Study each year.  Prior to coming to Bridgeport UMC, Rev. Engle served Lewisburg UMC, Lewisburg, WV; Chapel Hill UMC, Buckhannon, WV; Christ Church, Sutton, WV; Epworth UMC, Parkersburg, WV; Oak Grove UMC, Decatur, GA; and Colfax-Walnut Grove UMC, Colfax, WV.   A licensed residential contractor, Rev. Engle enjoys woodworking and building projects. He and his wife, Carla, have four children - Richard, Steven, Chad, and Russell.

The Reverend Jim Lang, associate minister of visitation, has served Bridgeport UMC for two and a half years.  A graduate of James Madison High School, Vienna, VA, Rev. Lang received a bachelor of arts regents degree from Fairmont State College.  He also has attended Course of Study for Ordained Ministry in the United Methodist Church.  Among his visitation responsibilities at Bridgeport UMC, Rev. Lang also teaches the Thursday morning Lectionary Bible Study as well as long and short-term Bible Studies throughout the year. Prior to his appointment at Bridgeport UMC, Rev. Lang served the West Buckhannon Charge.  Prior to his call into ministry, Rev. Lang served the United States Air Force; and was employed by Orbit Communications, Scope Electronics, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, AeroMech, and Dominion.  He and his wife Karen, have three adult children - Sean Miller, Alicia Hanshaw, and Jason Lang.  They are also the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren - Megan, Laura, and Alison Hanshaw; Kirsten, Kelly, and Ryan Miller; and Gretchen Lang.

The Reverend Nathan Price, associate minister of youth and church communications, is serving his first pastoral appointment at Bridgeport UMC. A graduate of Ripley High School, Ripley, West Virginia, Rev. Price received a bachelor of arts degree in speech communications from Alderson-Broaddus College, Philippi, WV. Among his responsibilities as youth pastor, Rev. Price also assists in writing/editing the monthly church newsletter and the weekly worship bulletin. He also prepares news releases and publicity materials for special worship services, concerts, and church events as well as serves as the church’s webmaster. Prior to his call into ministry, Rev. Price served as director of communications at Alderson-Broaddus College (2000-2007); was a video production specialist for West Virginia University (1999-2000); and was executive producer of the 5:30 and 6:00 news at WBOY-TV 12, Clarksburg, WV (1998-1999).  He and his wife Tricia, have two children - Hannah and Brady.

Sarah Carr Parsons, director of music ministry, is in her twentieth year of music ministry at Bridgeport UMC.  A graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School, in Buckhannon, WV, Carr Parsons received a bachelor of arts degree in applied music from West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon, WV; a master’s degree in choral conducting from Southern Methodist University in Dallas under the tutelage of Lloyd Pfautch; and a master’s degree of sacred music from the Perkins School of Theology. She holds a Level III certification from the Choral Music Experience Institute under the direction of Doreen Rao. Among her responsibilities as director of music ministry, Carr Parsons has oversight to all church choirs and instrumental ensembles for children, youth, and adults. She and her team of dedicated and talented lay musicians, provide spiritual growth as well as enjoyment and inspiration to each worship experience.  Carr Parsons is also the artistic director and founder of the Chanticleer Children’s Chorus and has extensive experience as a performer, conductor, and teacher.
