On Tuesday, November 20, sixteen youth members went shopping at the Meadowbrook Mall for children in our community whose mother or father spent Christmas behind bars.

The Prison Fellowship Ministries Angel Tree Program provides the love of Christ to children and families of prisoners each year.

Bridgeport UMC was given the names of six children (three families) in our community and were asked to provide two gifts - one toy and one article of clothing for each child.

Shortly before Christmas, the gifts were delivered to the children.

“This was a great opportunity for our youth to do something special for children in need,” said Pastor Nathan.  “This was truly their project...I didn’t go into the stores with them - they chose each gift, paid for it, and brought it back to me to load in the van.”

After the Angel Tree shopping was complete, the youth members ate lunch in the Food Court before heading back to the church.
