Members of Bridgeport UMC donated cleaning supplies for Open Heart Ministries, a new outreach initiative for the Greater Clarksburg Cooperative Parish.

United Methodist Youth Groups from all over the Clarksburg/Bridgeport area participated in this annual event.

The name ‘Booth Festival’ is derived from the Old Testament. The Feast of Booths was one of the three and final great annual festivals of the Israelites. With great joy, the festival proclaims that the harvest is complete.  It is a significant event in that... “when you have gathered in the fruits of the land, you shall keep a feast unto the Lord...and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God...” (Lev. 23:39-40). For generations churches have celebrated “fall or harvest” festivals and looked upon them as not only and opportunity to give thanks for the season’s bounty, but also as a time to share the harvest with those less fortunate.
