Weddings

Your wedding day is one of the most significant days in your life together as you bring into God's presence the journey that has brought you together and now seek the blessing of God, your family, and friends as you publicly declare your intent to embrace God's gift of married love for the rest of your days.

We welcome the opportunity to share this important day with you and to support you as you continue your journey following your wedding day.

Being members of our congregation is not required for couple s to be married here, but we do hope and pray that confirming your marriage covenant at Bridgeport United Methodist Church will bring you into connection with our community of faith and that you will be led to become active participants of our congregation.

We confirm that marriage is a sacred covenant and that couples are wise to have pre-marital conversations with the pastor prior to their wedding day. 

As we plan your marriage worship service together, our staff recognizes that marriage worship services need to express both the universal realities of the marriage covenant and also the unique characteristics of the couple and their relationship.  Consequently, the style of the liturgy and music varies greatly from couple to couple as they work with the pastor to create a worship experience that has integrity and expresses the uniqueness of each couple.

In addition to our Sanctuary being available for your Wedding, our Fellowship Hall is also available for your reception.  You may request more information concerning this option when you contact us about a date.  Please not that this is a smoke-free and alcohol-free environment.
